The whole system is corrupt beyond belief = I hold in my I.T. systems sets of papers that the last Tory Govt. was desperate to get copies of (for internal blackmail purposes) = I turned down offers (to release them) up to a Knighthood, holding out for a seat in the House of Lords . . . Which thankfully, I never had to decide (morally) whether or not to accept . . .

It is circa thirty (~30) years = The exact details of the date "lost to the sands of time" - That I (as a very inexperienced Solicitor) was asked to "prepare the legals" for the sale of a set of unloved green/bio-fuel petrochemical assets, that were to be offloaded by one of the World's oil majors from its refinery on the Humber to a "Young Man from Beverley (who was 'doing' a Management Buy In [MBI] with them)".'James Radcliffe' has done well in the intervening years / Me, not quite so much (= I'm "flying coach" down there / Up the back - By the toilets!) . . .

Sadly, this updated story is behind Murdoch's Pay Wall (and I'm not paying him = on principle) - So I'll never know how an Italian/Sicilian lawyer can file/serve a Writ (apparently) without their client's instructions.I do know one thing (however) = The lawyers are unlikely to get paid by the client . . . https://lnkd.in/ek6D-sKQ

I'm told by industry insiders that ASDA's financial stress is such - that it can no longer loss-lead on fuel sales (which has been its business model for years).LIMITED NUMBERS of drivers coming onto their estate(s) = REDUCED sales = NO profits.Modern Private Equity is what happens when you let people who are (generally) failed Accountants lose with hot money . . .

The sheer cynicism of people like Owen Paterson = Who would deprive the British of the protections of Human Rights in a heart-beat (because Putin’s Russian Mafia State has “seeded” European 🇪🇺 Politics with money to support that view) is appalling.When one’s own wife kills oneself in despair at the shame her husband’s blatant corruption has brought upon her (and their family) = It’s time to just “go away and shut up” [(c) “Sir” Gavin Williamson].

How can a business the size of Alphabet not come up with a distinctive, trademark registerable name for its AI Engine?It’s almost as though they asked their Artifical Intelligence product for a suggestion, and all it did was plunder “prior art”.All this from a company that was founded by two young grad students - who managed to come up with “Google” all by themselves . . .

Really "Fascinating" (/ Frustrating) to watch how a business (= once a FTSE 100 constituent) falls apart - Once the Founders cease to be involved = To wit: "Frankly - Hargreaves Lansdown's administrative support has "fallen off a cliff" since the end of the pandemic lockdown / the reign of Mr. Chris Hill - and - It is hardly a surprise that I have professionally been directing people to AJ Bell over recent periods.The sheer lack of common sense involved at HL over getting circa GBP £[A Small Amount] released to pay a widow's care home fees = Makes me wonder whether you've all been replaced by ChatBots = Only able to say: "Computer Says: 'NO'".I know HL is being taken over - but keeping your assets under management inflated in this manner is shockingly poor behaviour.Will you please speak to someone with some cerebral activity within your department - to ascertain whether HL will accept an office copy of the relevant LPA - As referred to in:- [Redacted]For most of my working life - I (and my family) have placed money into Hargreaves Lansdown's systems = If I knew how hard it was to retrieve cash (and trust me, I've recently dealt with HL's pensions drawdown team = What a shambles they are !) = I would never have dealt with HL.Ridiculous fees for quite what? - Apart from endless aggravation."https://lnkd.in/eHc65t96

The question which the British should be asking is: "Exactly whose money is really buying the Spectator?"Ask yourself - If you were Putin (and his Oligarchs) and you wanted to run a television station - spreading societal discord in the U.K. (at any cost / it can effectively lose unlimited amounts of money) - to replace the sanctioned/banned Russia Today ("RT") = How would "that" look any different to "GB News"? (i.e. The broadcaster that is nominally (part-)owned by the same individual(s) with "significant Russian business history" - "Conveniently" based in Dubai, part of the UAE.)
